Partner Frances Pantaleo Speaks at NYS Bar Association Annual Meeting
On January 25, Partner Frances Pantaleo spoke on guardianship issues at the Annual Meeting of the New York State Bar Association Trusts and Estates Law Section, which was held at the Hilton Hotel in New York City. Her presentation, entitled “Is Guardianship the Answer?” provided an overview of proceedings for appointment of a guardian under Article 81 of the Mental Hygiene Law, the rules which govern administration of the guardianship and strategies which may avoid the need for appointment of a guardian.
A former Chair of the Elder Law and Special Needs Section of the New York State Bar Association, Ms. Pantaleo is a member of the Trusts and Estates Section and a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA). She is a member and has served as past-chair of the Elder Law Committees of the Westchester Women’s Bar Association and the Westchester County Bar Association.
Ms. Pantaleo is the head of the Elder Law Practice group at Bleakley Platt. She handles a broad range of matters with an emphasis on elder law, special needs planning, guardianship proceedings and drafting and administration of special needs trusts.
