Elizabeth C. Briand Presents Program on Health Care Planning at Bedford Hills Community House
Bleakley Platt associate Elizabeth Briand recently presented a program for seniors about the importance of planning in advance for health care needs. Her discussion, which took place on October 24, addressed the legal documents necessary to ensure that an individual’s wishes are honored, including Health Care Proxies, living wills, the MOLST (Medical Order for Life-Sustaining Treatment) and decision making by members of the family.
Elizabeth Briand speaks frequently before consumer and professional groups on Elder Law topics. She is a member of the Elder Law and Trusts and Estates Practice Groups at Bleakley Platt and handles all matters relating to Elder Law, Estate Planning and Estate Administration, Medicare and Medicaid benefits, guardianship proceedings under Article 81 of the Mental Hygiene Law and Article 17A of the Surrogate’s Court Procedure Act, drafting and administration of special needs trusts.
