Biography
Mr. Handsman is a member of the Real Estate and Commercial Finance practice group and a member of the Corporate, Health Law group. He brings more than 30 years of experience representing real estate developers, owners, and operators of real property in the Northeastern region of the United States. His focus is on commercial office and retail leasing, acquisitions, divestitures, real estate financing, operating agreements and partnership agreements.
Mr. Handsman also represents both landlords and tenants, in connection with the leasing of office, retail, industrial and shopping centers. He has been the attorney responsible for leasing over 4 million square feet of space over the last 35 years. He regularly represents developers, owners and tenants in a broad range of real estate transactions and general corporate matters.
Mr. Handsman is an Adjunct Professor at Pace Law School teaching Real Estate Transactions and Finance.
Mr. Handsman has represented not-for-profit companies in the restructuring of real estate locations, including leasing, sales and purchases and the operation, management of their properties.

- Representing the owner of an Upper East Side condominium in leasing the ground and second floors of the hotel to an international luxury retailer.
- Representing the owner of gas station properties throughout the Northeast in the purchase and sale of the properties.
- Representing an owner in connection with the potential development and expansion of a commercial property in Boston, MA and Arlington, VA.
- Advising an NYC based developer on multiple projects converting parking garages and rental properties into luxury condominiums.
