Daniel P. Buckley
Mr. Buckley is a member of the Trusts and Estates Practice Group. Mr. Buckley’s practice focuses on estate planning and administration, with an emphasis on estate and gift tax planning. He prepares wills, trusts and other estate planning documents designed to manage and dispose of clients’ assets in accordance with their wishes while also minimizing tax, probate and administrative costs.
In addition to assisting clients with estate planning matters, Mr. Buckley represents and advises both fiduciaries and beneficiaries in litigation and settlement of trusts, estates and guardianships. His practice incorporates a full range of trust and estate administration and fiduciary accounting services, including assisting fiduciaries with marshaling, valuing and distributing assets, preparing estate and gift tax returns and settling estates and trusts, both judicially and non-judicially. Mr. Buckley has lectured for the New York State Bar Association on estate administration topics and has been appointed as a guardian ad litem in Surrogate’s Court matters. Mr. Buckley also represents clients in residential real estate transactions.
Prior to joining Bleakley Platt, Mr. Buckley practiced at a large law firm in New York City, after beginning his career at a boutique trusts and estates firm in Stamford, Connecticut. Mr. Buckley has been recognized as a New York Super Lawyers® Rising Star for the years 2015 – 2017, and is active in the Westchester County and New York State Bar Associations. Mr. Buckley is also committed to giving back the to the community. His pro bono work has included the representation of charitable organizations, as well as children in Family Court proceedings.
