John J. Loveless
Mr. Loveless is a member of our Valuation, Condemnation and Tax Certiorari Practice Group. He is an experienced trial and appellate attorney who concentrates in proceedings involving the valuation of numerous types of properties.
Mr. Loveless represents both public and private organizations, corporations and other entities in all aspects of the valuation of property and businesses, concentrating in the areas of tax certiorari and condemnation. He has represented individuals, companies and municipalities in property tax challenges and related property tax proceedings, including in rem foreclosures and segment rate challenges.
Currently, Mr. Loveless serves as Counsel to the Town Attorney for the Town of Pound Ridge and Counsel to the County of Westchester Industrial Development Agency. He has tried numerous cases to verdict and argued appeals in State and Federal Courts, including the Second Circuit and New York’s Court of Appeals including a $20,000,000 subrogation claim that was ultimately decided by the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. Additionally, through his work with the Uniformed Firefighters Association, he was involved in negotiating labor agreements and handling disciplinary matters. His extensive work in the field of education law involved employment issues, discipline and question of tenures, including a matter also decided by the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.
