Mr. Fix is a member of the Firm’s Real Estate and Land Use Practice Groups. He represents clients through a range of services, including complex business disputes, commercial and real estate litigation. In addition to his considerable experience in handling cases in both state and federal courts, Dan has served as the outside general counsel for a real estate procurement company where he negotiated and drafted corporate governance documents, prepared consultancy/marketing agreements, assisted in the private issuance of equity securities, and handled numerous general business matters. Dan also represents municipalities with a focus on liability and real estate-based litigation.
A native of South Africa, Dan has lived in several countries around the world, broadening his perspectives and giving him a feel for the challenges of international business. Prior to law school, Dan worked in Washington D.C. for the leading trade association for the software industry and developed a talent for advocacy as a legal advocate for the YWCA Domestic Violence Legal Center in Harrisburg, PA. During law school, Dan was a judicial intern for the Honorable Shirley Werner Kornreich, J.S.C. New York State Supreme Court, New York County and represented low-income clients before the Pennsylvania Unemployment Compensation Board of Appeals as a certified legal intern with the Harrisburg Civil Law Clinic. Before joining Bleakley Platt & Schmidt, Dan worked at a national law firm.
