Biography
Ms. Galvão is a member of our Litigation and Appellate Practice Groups. From 1993 to 1995, she served as a staff attorney for the New York State Court of Appeals.
Ms. Galvão represents a variety of corporations, banks, insurance companies, and individual clients in federal and state trial and appellate courts. She has extensive experience in appellate practice and general litigation, including class action defense work and estate litigation. She has argued appeals on a broad spectrum of issues, including product liability, commercial and contract disputes regarding mortgages, banking and negotiable instruments, cable franchise agreements, preemption and other commercial and regulatory issues in federal and state courts.

Memberships
Ms. Galvão was recently appointed by Chief Judge Judith S. Kaye to serve on the Independent Judicial Election Qualification Commission for the 9th Judicial District. A member of the New York State and Westchester County Bar Associations, Ms. Galvao is also involved in the Westchester County Association, where she serves on the Young Professionals Advisory Committee and the Connections Committee. In addition, she is a member of the Society of Former Law Clerks, as well as the Historical Society of the Courts of the State of New York.
