Biography
Mr. Schnaier is the head of our Tax and ERISA Practice Group, and a member of our Trusts and Estates,
Corporate and Health Law Practice Groups. Formerly with Guardian
Life Insurance Company, Mr. Schnaier represents individuals in financial
and estate planning matters, and businesses in connection with Tax and ERISA matters relating to the structure and operation of proposed
and ongoing transactions, lenders and developers in real property
acquisition and development financings, project financings and loan
workouts.
Mr. Schnaier also represents both landlords and tenants in commercial
leasing matters and developers and corporate owners in connection
with the acquisition, development and disposition of real property,
as well as the real property aspects of mergers and acquisitions.
Mr. Schnaier has spoken publicly on life insurance litigation and
suitability issues at meetings of the American Bar Association/American
Law Institute as well as ESOP’s and other pension issues at
meetings of the American Society of Pension Actuaries. In addition,
he was selected as a faculty member of the American Law Institute-American
Bar Association program, “Planning Techniques for Large Estates,”
leading the discussions entitled “Life Insurance Planning
and Techniques” and “Selection of Life Insurance Alternatives:
Suitability Standards for the Particular Client, Including Litigation
Issues.”
