Biography
Mr. Markert is a member of the Firm's Executive Committee and
Litigation Practice Group. He is engaged in a diverse commercial
litigation practice before federal and state courts, as well as
arbitration tribunals. His experience covers a broad range of commercial
matters, including complex contract, fraud, commercial real estate,
and securities disputes; arbitrations and mediations, including
FINRA brokerage customer disputes and construction claims; director
and officer liability cases; attorney and accountant malpractice
claims; significant insurance coverage disputes; commercial warranty
claims; and numerous other litigated matters. He also provides counsel
on risk management and litigation avoidance.
Prior joining the Firm in 2001, Mr. Markert was a partner in the
litigation department of a major New York City law firm and had
practiced at that firm and its predecessors for more than 20 years.
