Grant E. Pollack

Counsel

Grant E. Pollack is managing member and co-founder of Pollack, P.C.  Grant has over 25 years of experience in intellectual property litigation, information privacy, computer law, trade secrets, licensing and related corporate transactions.  In addition to his extensive practice in business law and litigation, Grant has drafted and prosecuted hundreds of Patents and Trademarks for clients throughout North America, Europe and Asia.

His technical expertise includes software, Internet, telecommunications, advanced materials, medical devices, lasers, robotics and pharmaceuticals.  Notably, before entering the legal profession, Grant worked as a software engineer at Martin Marietta Aerospace (now Lockheed Martin) in robotics and mobile launching systems.

Grant has lectured extensively on topics in Privacy and Intellectual Property Law, including "Patents, Trade Secrets & Privacy,"  "Legal Issues Confronting Entrepreneurs,"  "Patent Law and its Business Applications,"  the "Law of the Internet in New York," and "Intellectual Property Litigation," sponsored by organizations such as the American Bar Association, New York University's Leonard N. Stern School of Business Administration, the National Business Institute, and American Corporate Counsel Association, and the Network of Trial Law Firms.  Also, he has testified as a Patent Law Expert in high profile cases such as Monec Holding AG v. Apple Inc. (E.D. Virginia).

He is an active member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York (Co-Chair, Emerging Patent Issues Subcommittee), the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association (Executive Committee of the Intellectual Property Section), and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

Grant’s accomplishments include:

Drafted key patents on first Electric Car for commercial production in the United States.

Coordinated worldwide intellectual property protection for remote online monitoring and security system patents.

Successfully enforced design patent on behalf of leading European producer of jewelry, securing exclusive license and favorable settlement on the eve of trial.

Settled trademark opposition by major online search engine, securing royalty free license for Applicant.

Advised numerous foreign generic drug companies on non-infringement of patents on brand name prescription drugs.

Secured patents on material and process used in construction of world's leading experimental Fusion Reactor.

Successfully defended leading toy manufacturer in jury trial, through appeal, defeating claim for infringement of patent on toy flight simulator.

Secured patent on world's first global system for linking interactive satellite, cellular telephone and Internet service in remote geographic regions.

Developed patent portfolio on leading interactive sales and use tax assessment, distribution and reporting system for business transactions over the Internet.
